The United Kingdown will withdrawn from the European Union (EU) on the 31st January 2020. The UK\u2019s Government has a mandate to negotiate a new trade with the EU by the 31st December 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This will lead the UK into a 11 month transititon period to prepare for its new relationship with EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although the UK will cease to be an EU member, the trading relationship during the trasition period will remain the same and it will continue to follow the EU\u2019s rules. This means that there will be no Customs border between the UK and the EU until the 31st December 2020 and that the current free movement of goods between the UK and the EU will be maintained. From 1st January 2021 UK will be classed as third country for customs purposes, which means all goods moving in \/ out of the UK will be required to be cleared for Export and\/or Import.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In regards to people movements Border Force has confirmed that subject to ratification, the UK will leave the EU with a deal on 31st January 2020. This means the UK will remain in the Customs Union and retain free movement of workers until the end of the transition period, currently 31st December 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Customs Department is once again, calling on importers and exporters to obtain an Economic Operator Registration Identification (EORI) number to be able to lodge declarations for their imports and exports to\/from UK.
