VAT changes in Germany

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the federal German Government has decided that with effect from the 1st of July 2020, the VAT rate in Germany will be reduced from 19% to 16% on general goods and services and the reduced rate from 7% to 5%.

This is an interim solution to support the German economy and is valid until the 31st of December 2020.

What does this mean for you, your customers outside of Germany?

The chamber of commerce and the federal ministry for economy are expecting an increase of 15% on German imports.
